I started my boat building journey 43 years ago when I left school at 15 years old. I learnt my trade at the knee of Mike Hayward, who was a pioneering boat builder of the eighties. He came to narrow boat building from steel yacht building. So knew a thing or two about boats. I set to, learning from his knowledge and gaining much valuable experience.

Eventually I decided that I wanted to build my own style of boats. Since then, I have developed various styles of the steel boat and built hundreds. My primary concerns have always been aesthetic looks, handling and quality. My boat designs are often emulated by other companies, but never bettered.
